Attractions - Water Fun

There are dozens of ways to enjoy the waterways around Hay River and one to suit every taste.

Old Beach

If you just want to soak up some sun (remember, the days are awfully long here during the summer), just head to the public beach on Vale Island.

For those who like a little more adrenaline, take a jet boat ride on the river or lake. If it's your first time, the speed is guaranteed to scare you.

You can launch your boat at one of several launches in the area, including the well-marked Porritt Landing. (see maps)

Or, if you prefer smaller craft, toss in your canoe or kayak anywhere along the river or lake and create your own vacation adventure.
